Client: Grosvenor House Art and Antiques Fair
Company: Online Galleries
Website: www.grosvenor-fair.co.uk
Online Galleries supplied a website for the annual Grosvenor House Art and Antiques Fair in 2008, and the client requested a redesign to promote the 2009 Fair. The new site incorporated photos from the 2008 event, and new technology such as an improved interactive floor plan and streamed Grosvenor House Fair TV.
The new design had to be consistent with the Fair's long-standing brand identity featuring nine coloured ovals. After meeting with the client to discuss their requirements, I created five unique concepts for the new design, exploring a variety of different styles. The chosen design featured a prominent photograph from the 2008 fair, and to reflect the breadth of imagery available at the event, I created additional designs for the eight site sections, each themed around a colour from the client's existing branding, and a different image from the fair. The final design also featured a selection of graphic 'quick links' leading to highlighted areas of the site, and a skin for the interactive floorplan software. This project also involved redesigning the 2008 email newsletter to match the new look and feel.
Although the 2009 Fair was described as a success, in the weeks following the Executive Committee decided that the Fair was no longer financially viable, and this year's event - the Diamond Anniversary - was acknowledged as the last. The website has since been altered by the client to reflect the change in circumstances.
