Shiny Ideas

You have them, we build them.

We like making websites. We get excited about the big picture, and obsessive about the little details. The most interesting projects require a balance of both.

Olympia Book Fair

Web and interface design

Website: www.olympiabookfair.com
Designed by Helen, while contracting for Online Galleries.
Client: London International Antiquarian Book Fair, Olympia

The London International Antiquarian Book Fair came to Online Galleries for a relaunch of their website to accompany new branding. The new site was much expanded in scope, incorporating photos from the 2009 Fair, an online catalogue, and improved resources including a graphical floorplan, press area and secure area for exhibitors.

The new web team wanted a fresh, contemporary look and feel, and an emphasis on graphical and dynamic content, user interactivity and social media. Working closely with the client, Helen created a striking design based around the red shade used in their promotional materials. The chosen design featured a prominent photograph from the 2009 fair, which rotated to display the breadth of imagery available at the event. The main navigation made use of a drop-down menu, and the site included submenu navigation and graphical buttons linking to highlighted content.
